The Director of Admissions & Financial Aid serves as a key member of the school’s leadership team and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive enrollment strategy to attract, enroll, and retain mission-appropriate students. This role supports the Catholic identity of the school and ensures the enrollment program reflects the school’s values, academic offerings, and community culture.
The Director oversees all aspects of recruitment, admissions, retention, financial aid, and scholarship administration. This individual works collaboratively with faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to promote the school’s mission and strengthen long-term enrollment sustainability. This is a 12-month position.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Admissions
- Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan aligned with enrollment goals.
- Manage all components of the admissions process, including inquiries, campus tours, shadow days, application review, interviews, and acceptance communications.
- Build relationships with prospective families, feeder schools, parishes, community organizations, and educational consultants.
- Plan and lead recruitment events such as open houses, information sessions, and community outreach.
- Represent the school at fairs, conferences, and off-campus events, including local and regional travel.
Marketing & Communications (Enrollment-Focused)
- Collaborate with marketing/communications staff to develop messaging, digital content, and outreach campaigns supporting recruitment and retention.
- Ensure that all enrollment materials and communications reflect the school’s mission, programs, and Catholic identity.
Retention & Student Success
- Develop and implement retention initiatives in partnership with academic and student life departments.
- Analyze student feedback, academic data, and engagement indicators to support retention strategies.
- Coordinate outreach to current families and provide personalized support to ensure continuity of enrollment.
Financial Aid & Scholarship Administration
- Oversee the financial aid and scholarship processes, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Advise families on tuition assistance and scholarship opportunities.
- Collaborate with the finance office to manage aid budgets and forecasting.
Data Management & Reporting
- Utilize data analysis to track recruitment progress, forecast enrollment, and inform strategic decisions.
- Maintain accurate records in the admissions database and generate routine enrollment reports for leadership and the board.
Mission Representation & School Knowledge
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of school programs, Catholic identity, academic offerings, extracurriculars, and student life.
- Serve as an ambassador of the school’s mission, articulating the value and outcomes of a Catholic education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of admissions, enrollment management, or related experience—preferably in an independent, Catholic, or similar school environment.
- Demonstrated success in recruitment, relationship-building, and enrollment goal achievement.
- Strong public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and travel as required.
- Comfort with data systems, CRM tools, and analytics.
- Commitment to the Catholic mission and values of the school
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial aid administration.
- Knowledge of independent/private school marketing strategies.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish especially) a plus.
Working Conditions
- Some evenings and weekends required for events and recruitment activities.
- Local and regional travel expected.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
