Job Summary
The Office of Financial Aid is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented leader to serve as the Associate Director of Financial Aid and Compliance. This full-time position provides leadership and oversight for financial aid processing, operational functions, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on delivering efficient, student-centered services that support institutional goals. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid and working in close partnership with the Associate Director of Veterans Benefits and Scholarships, the Associate Director plays a key role in the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs. Responsibilities include contributing to strategic planning, fund management, budgeting, and staffing decisions. This position also provides direct supervision to financial aid staff, with an emphasis on guidance, training, and professional development. In addition, the Associate Director leads the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Title IV and state regulations, and shares responsibility for serving as Acting Director in the Director's absence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to educational access, a collaborative leadership style, and a demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university OR an equivalent of education and experience. Equivalencies will not count towards the requirements below.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible financial aid experience
- One (1) year leading and/or supervising professional staff
- Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive environment and work effectively with diverse populations
- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software
- Working knowledge of US Department of Education systems like Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and CPS
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial aid systems such as Banner
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to fiscal accountability and quality customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with system testing and implementation
