Job Description Summary
The North, Central and South Regional Director, Financial Aid
Campus Operations and Outreach will develop the skills of Financial
Aid and Veterans Affairs staff while overseeing and contributing to
the customer service outcomes at the campuses within their
region.
Job Description
Description of Duties and Tasks
- Assist the Executive Director of Student Assistance and
Veterans Affairs in overseeing the daily operations of ACC
financial aid offices within their region.
- Maintains compliance for the work-study program in their
region.
- Manages FA supervisors and VA manager within the region, and
administers employee progressive discipline according to ACC
policies.
- Audits Professional Judgement, Verification, Unusual Enrollment
appeals, and Selective Service intake practices.
- Ensures atmosphere in which the mission and vision of the
institution are evident to all students and employees.
- Collaborates with student services leadership to provide
guidance in developing financial aid strategies for Guided
Pathways.
- Provides leadership in all areas of campus operations,
including monitoring of campus service levels and making
adjustments for improvement of customer service and staffing
needs.
- Provides guidance for assigned region to maintain compliance
with regulations and requirements of ACC's accrediting body,
Department of Education (ED), federal and local
agencies.
- Maintains consistent and positive customer relations,
responding to internal/external customer inquiries in an efficient
and timely manner. Demonstrates an understanding of multicultural,
and values differences.
- Participates in scheduled discussions with the Executive Team
and other leadership team members regarding management reports,
student population, withdrawal data, new start data, accounts
receivable data, financial data and student
satisfaction.
- Establishes and implements efficient administrative policies,
programs, and procedures; develops strategic goals and objectives
for campuses in conjunction with departmental and ACC strategic
plans.
Knowledge
- Regulations governing federal, state and institutional
financial assistance and VA programs.
- Student financial assistance and VA policies and
protocol.
- Federal, state, and institutional financial assistance
reporting requirements.
- Distribution and utilization processes in relation to student
aid funds.
- Basic statistics and accounting principles.
- Supervisory principles, practices, and methods.
Skills
- Ability to make decisions based on thorough analysis of issues
and sound judgement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact, discretion, and ability to
effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and
constituents in a multicultural college community.
- Effective leadership, team building skills, and strong customer
orientation when working with multicultural students, faculty,
administration, community and business leaders.
- Effective organizational and planning skills, and ability to
meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information
and related materials.
Technology Skills
- Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and
presentation software.
- Use query and control languages, web technology, client-server
technology, data extraction and reporting, troubleshooting
enterprise software applications, testing new program releases and
patches, and integrating data from external source, such as the
Dept. of Education.
Required Work Experience
- Three years related work experience including one year
supervisory experience. Education cannot be substituted for
supervisory experience.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education
- Master's degree
Special Requirements
- Must not be on default of any federal/state student
loans.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a standard office or similar
environment.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching,
pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Safety
- Supervise safe operation of unit. Facilitate safety
inspections. Take reasonable and prudent actions to eliminate
identified hazards. Ensure employees receive appropriate safety
training and foster a workplace safety culture.
Salary Range (PG 123)
$66,544 - $83,179
