About the position

Lincoln Tech is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to provide information and

assistance to students, campus administrative staff, faculty, and

representatives of outside agencies on a variety of financial aid programs.

Perform approved needs analysis and generate a tentative award program. Initiate

document tracking and process paper flow as required. Evaluate and resolve

student inquiries, issues, and problems, and ensure appropriate action is taken

to the satisfaction of the student, Company, and/or regulatory agencies in

compliance with policies, procedures and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Outbound contact to newly enrolled High School assigned students and parents

to conduct financial aid overviews

  • Deliver positive customer service-based presentation and responses to student

financial aid inquiries

  • Provide enrolled students for future class starts with accurate information

regarding the application process and their eligibility for state and/or

federal assistance or alternative financing

  • Collect information and determine a student's eligibility through an approved

needs analysis

  • Advise students of their obligations to provide information and the resulting

consequences when verification or documentation of status is required

  • Answer student questions concerning their financial aid package

professionally, accurately and in a positive manner

  • Review student financial aid applications/student loans for completeness and

accuracy. Initiate appropriate tracking system for applications and missing

documentation which the student must complete

  • Perform diligent follow-up on missing paperwork due from students to complete

their files in a timely manner

  • Possible travel to HS remote events
  • Attend relevant workshops and trainings to remain current with regulatory

changes and to earn Continuing Education Units as required for State

certification

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year financial aid experience in a college or university

financial aid office; or an equivalent combination of education, training,

and experience

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in

standardized situations

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
