Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Director of Financial Aid. The Director of Financial Aid leads a team of professionals supporting students with financial opportunities in order to attend NJC. The Director of Financial Aid will provide leadership and management for the Office of Financial Aid including all financial aid programs and services. This director must possess a working knowledge of all federal, state, institutional and Veteran's Administration Educational Benefits regulations; ensure effective efficient processing of financial aid applications and the disbursement of funds and ensure compliance in all areas. This position also is responsible for the supervision of the financial aid staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management for the Office of Financial Aid including all financial aid programs and services.
- Possess a working knowledge of all federal, state, institutional and Veteran's Administration Educational Benefits regulations
- Ensure effective efficient processing of financial aid applications and the disbursement of funds and ensure compliance in all areas.
- Responsible for the supervision of the financial aid staff.
Requirements

- Excellent public speaking ability, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to serve as a team member and a team leader on campus and in the community
- Ability to lead and follow well, accept criticism, handle conflict, and motivate others
- Experience with standard MS Office programs
- Bachelor's degree in education, accounting, business, management, CIS or related field from accredited college or university.
- Progressive experience in financial aid in higher education setting.
- Knowledge of Federal Title IV and VA programs and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Proficient use of computers and applications
- Valid Colorado driver license.
- Must submit to and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check as a condition of hire, including fingerprinting.
