Finance Manager - Mission Driven Organization - Onsite

For decades, our client has been transforming lives by providing programs that support children at risk. We’re seeking a Finance professional whose expertise will directly advance this mission. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the CFO and leadership team to lead budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and strategic planning—driving financial stability and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management to support organizational goals.
• Track and report monthly financial and operational performance to leadership.
• Prepare for and support annual audits, including documentation and Form 990 filings.
• Develop and manage grant budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with City, County, Federal, and other funding regulations.
• Collaborate across teams to align financial resources with program and operational priorities.
• Maintain accurate fund accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Support day-to-day nonprofit accounting activities, month-end and year-end close processes.
• Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and operational performance measurement.
• Support Adhoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of finance experience, with at least 2 years in nonprofit accounting within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience managing grant budgets and compliance, including government funding and Uniform Guidance.
• ERP experience (Sage Intacct preferred) and advanced Excel skills, including complex reconciliations and financial analysis
• Proficiency in audit preparation and Form 990 filings.
• High level of accountability, independent judgment, and ability to work autonomously.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and systems-minded, with strong internal control awareness.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker capable of balancing hands-on execution with long-term financial planning.
