Financial Aid Specialist - Part-time

Job Summary Assist students and others as they navigate the financial aid process, mainly by phone, email and at times in-person. This position is mainly telecommuting and at times in office upon need. Provide verbal and written responses to questions about the application, processing, aid offers, and relevant policies. Review and process incoming documents. Work reports. Hours for this position are Monday- Friday 10:00 am 4:00 pm.

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills, (customer service, written and oral communication.) Knowledge of general office procedures. Data input experience. Adaptable to frequent change, function well in high-stress environment. Knowledge of Banner, Etrieve, and Microsoft Suite preferred. Knowledge of Title IV Financial Aid and FAFSA application process preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 8 month- 12 months or more customer service experience preferable over the phone and/or in-person.

Preferred Qualifications Experience and or knowledge of Financial Aid Experience with Banner. Must have excellent work attendance and be consistently on time.
