Job Responsibilities

The Financial Aid & Veterans Services Coordinator provides comprehensive support to prospective, incoming, and current students related to enrollment, financial aid, academic planning, and student success. This position works collaboratively across Student Services, Academic Affairs, and Finance & Administration to assist students in navigating the college experience and achieving their educational and career goals. The coordinator plays a key role in promoting enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction through exceptional customer service and individualized support.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Provide proactive, accurate, and responsive customer service through in-person, phone, email, and virtual interactions. Counsel and assist prospective, incoming, returning, and continuing students with onboarding, academic planning, registration, financial aid, payment options, and other student services.
• Support admissions, testing, financial aid, veterans services, and registrar functions by processing student documents, completing data entry, maintaining student records, scheduling placement exams, and assisting with student information updates.
• Serve as a resource for students seeking financial aid and Veterans' educational benefits information. Review documents for completeness, request additional information when necessary, and assist students in understanding available resources and funding options.
• Act as a liaison between students, college departments, and external agencies to facilitate financial aid processing, benefits eligibility, enrollment requirements, and student success initiatives.
• Gather, review, and interpret documentation to ensure accurate student records, eligibility determinations, and timely processing of forms and transactions. Utilize student information systems and related technologies to maintain records and support student planning efforts.
• Assist dual enrollment students with college financial planning, South Carolina student aid opportunities, transfer planning, and post-high school enrollment preparation. Provide individual advising sessions for high school juniors and seniors.
• Participate in college committees, initiatives, outreach efforts, recruitment activities, and special events. Recommend process improvements and support continuous enhancement of student services and operational effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum And Additional Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in student services programs is preferred.
• Experience in financial aid, admissions, enrollment management, veteran's services, academic advising, registration, or related student services functions.
• Knowledge of financial aid programs, student eligibility requirements, enrollment processes, and higher education student support services.
• Experience using student information systems, integrated databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and provide student-centered support services
