Description

Administers one or more functions in the Department of Scholarships and Financial Aid, which includes financial aid advising, federal processing, scholarships, self-help programs and compliance.

1. Oversees and coordinates departmental services and procedures related to the processing of student scholarships and financial aid, ensuring compliance with appropriate laws, rules and regulations.

2. Directs activities and supervises professional and support staff, sets priorities and reassigns duties for special projects.

3. Ensures timely and efficient delivery of services; oversees quality control, compliance and system integrity for the unit.

4. Trains staff on guidelines, policies, procedures and general departmental functions.

5. Participates on the Scholarships and Financial Aid Management Team; assists in the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of departmental processes, activities and other functions.

6. Prepares the schedule of activities and maintains an operations calendar for the unit.

7. Acts as the liaison between Scholarships and Financial Aid and related internal departments and external entities.

8. Counsels students, prospective students and their families regarding services provided.

9. Assists the department in filing all necessary reports.

10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Assists with developing, implementing, and overseeing athletics financial aid program to ensure compliance with all University, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations governing the intercollegiate athletics operations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to all sports regarding NCAA Bylaw 15
  • Monitor financial aid limitations for both teams and individuals pursuant to NCAA rules and regulations
  • Stay up to date on current trends and legislation in the industry and communicate this information to the appropriate constituents.
  • Assist with regular review and updating of policies and procedures to align legislative updates, industry expectations, and university standards with workable athletic department best practices.
  • Assist with filing of waivers, violations, and other necessary reports associated with Bylaw - -Assist with NCAA and Conference reporting as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
