Job Title: Part-Time Finance Specialist / Manager (PPA & Energy Finance)
Location: Remote (US-Based)
Employment Type: Part-Time (min 20 hours/week)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Professional with 5 to 15 years of experience to oversee our financial modeling, contract analysis, and reporting for power delivery. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)and project finance mechanics within the United States energy markets.
Key Responsibilities
- PPA Financial Management: Evaluate, model, and track revenue structures, settlement calculations, and escalation clauses across Power Purchase Agreements (vPPAs).
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Maintain and update long-term project cash flow models, debt service coverage ratios (DSCR), and asset performance tracking.
- Accounting & Settlement Oversight: Reconcile monthly energy billing, merchant revenues, REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) sales, and offset calculations against contracted PPA terms.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Monitor counterparty credit risk, performance guarantees, curtailment impacts, and regulatory compliance requirements across relevant RTOs/ISOs (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, CAISO).
- Strategic Reporting: Prepare concise executive summaries, board presentations, and financial forecasts comparing budget-to-actual project metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Years of Experience: 5–15 years of progressive finance, project finance, or corporate finance experience (preferably in renewable energy, IPPs, or utility-scale energy infrastructure).
- PPA Expertise: Deep familiarity with US power purchase structures, energy settlement processes, and power market dynamics.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel financial modeling (leveraged buyouts, cash flow waterfalls, sensitivity analysis); proficiency with ERP and accounting systems.
- Autonomy: Strong ability to operate independently in a flexible, part-time remote environment. **Some travel may be required**
