We are seeking an experienced Director of Financial Aid to lead Title IV financial aid operations and federal student aid compliance for a Title IV-eligible higher education institution. This role oversees financial aid packaging, disbursement, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance while helping guide institutional student finance strategy.

This is not a Financial Aid Director position but the person we are looking for needs to have Financial Aid Director Experience to qualify for this position

Path to Vice President or Campus President

Salary: $110,000 – $130,000

We are seeking an experienced Director of Financial Aid / Director of Student Finance to lead Title IV financial aid operations and student finance strategy for a Title IV-eligible higher education institution.

This role is ideal for a Financial Aid leader from a college or university who wants to expand into broader campus leadership and executive management. The position is designed as a leadership pipeline role with advancement opportunities into Vice President or Campus President positions.

Director of Financial Aid / Student Finance Responsibilities - Title IV Financial Aid Leadership

  • Oversee all Title IV financial aid operations, including packaging, disbursement, reconciliations, and returns
  • Ensure compliance with federal financial aid regulations and cash management rules
  • Maintain institutional compliance with 90/10 regulations, composite score requirements, and financial responsibility standards
  • Lead preparation for Department of Education program reviews and audits
  • Manage financial aid reporting, certifications, and regulatory submissions

Student Finance & Revenue Oversight

  • Oversee student finance operations, including tuition revenue and aid disbursement processes
  • Monitor institutional revenue related to federal financial aid funding
  • Partner with leadership on financial aid strategy to support enrollment growth
  • Provide insight on financial aid policies, tuition planning, and student funding models

Financial Aid Compliance & Institutional Readiness

  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation for Title IV funds
  • Ensure institutional compliance with federal student aid regulations
  • Support financial and compliance audits
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions

Campus Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with Admissions, Registrar, and Academic leadership to align enrollment and student funding
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on institutional growth and operational strategy
  • Supervise financial aid or student finance staff
  • Report regularly on financial aid performance and compliance status

Executive Leadership Growth Path

This role is designed as a leadership pipeline position.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Higher Education Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of Financial Aid leadership experience at a college or university
  • Strong expertise in Title IV regulations and federal student aid administration
  • Experience managing financial aid packaging, disbursement, and reconciliation
  • Experience preparing for Department of Education program reviews or audits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in for-profit or career education institutions
  • Knowledge of 90/10 compliance and composite score monitoring
  • Experience leading student finance or bursar operations
  • Leadership experience supervising financial aid teams
