Both Campuses, off-campus travel required MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part of the Student Financial Services Office, the Assistant Director provides support to current and prospective students. Under the direction of the Director for Student Financial Services, the Assistant Directors will contribute to the administration of Federal, NYS, and other grant and scholarship programs for Cayuga Community College students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Assist the Director of Student Financial Services, along with other Assistant Directors to administer federal, state, and college aid programs.

Assist with the collection, analysis, and management of submitted financial aid applications.

Keep current on financial aid program legislation and guidelines, including those for federal, state and institutional aid.

Provide comprehensive financial aid counseling and guidance for current and prospective students, and their support members.

Provide student-centered services and cohort-specific interventions to assist students with understanding their bill, available aid, and outstanding balances.

Complete preliminary review of application for special programs (i.e., CPEP, EOP, ASAP. Veterans);

Collaborate with key stakeholders on grant funded initiatives connected to student success

Assists students and parents in the preparation of their financial aid applications and all necessary forms.

Assist with development and implementation of a proactive communication plan for students regarding financial aid and student billing.

Comply with all policies and guidance related to the administration of financial aid.

Conduct financial aid workshops, programs, and presentations for college and local community events (i.e. high schools, civic and professional organizations).

Participate in College recruitment and community events as necessary.

Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director.

Occasional nights and weekend work may be required. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in student personnel, counseling, human services or related field preferred.

Minimum of 1 year working in a higher education setting. Experience working in Financial Aid, Advising, or Student Services preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge and experience working with Banner preferred.

Certain assignments will require NYSDOCCS

access to enter correctional facilities in which the College currently operates programming. Access approval is necessary through NYSDOCCS.
