Description

Coordinates the planning, development and implementation of a

comprehensive student financial assistance program.

1. Responsible for the overall management of the internal

operations of the office, which includes administration of the

programs, management of staff and student counseling/customer

service.

2. Oversees application processing, development and maintenance of

the student information system.

3. Coordinates departmental services and procedures related to the

processing of student scholarships and financial aid, ensuring

compliance with appropriate laws, rules and regulations.

4. Directs activities and supervises professional and support

staff, sets priorities and reassigns duties for special

projects.

5. Trains staff on guidelines, policies, procedures and general

departmental functions.

6. Participates on the Scholarships and Financial Aid Management

Team; assists in the planning, organization, implementation and

evaluation of departmental processes, activities and other

functions.

7. Acts as the liaison between Scholarships and Financial Aid and

related internal departments and external entities.

8. Counsels students, prospective students and their families

regarding services provided.

9. Assists the department in the preparation and filing of state,

federal and institutional reports.

10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical

aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or

the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.

Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal,

directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or

an equivalent in-depth experience that is directly related to the

type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years

of directly job-related experience.

Responsible for ensuring that all financial aid operations comply

with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This position

supports the Executive Director in leading and maintaining complete

financial aid compliance. This position partners closely with the

SFA leadership team on important projects such as audits, policies

and procedures, implementation of new state or federal programs,

and more. Consistently exhibits exceptional service, collaboration,

and integrity.

  • Coordinates internal and external audit reviews.
  • Coordinates professional and clerical staff in assigned area of

responsibility and establishes work assignment priorities.

  • Assists Executive Director with staff selection and

evaluation.

  • Supervises the planning of policies and procedures and

implementation strategies for the financial aid computerized data

system.

  • Higher Education experience.
  • Service leadership skills including mutual respect, active

  • Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the ability

to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with strong

interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and

procedures.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external

constituents.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator
  • NASFAA Credentials
  • Experience with financial aid administration.
