Introduction to the Role

Trinity Valley School seeks a full-time (12-month) team member to serve in the dual role of

Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and Head Boys' Varsity Lacrosse Coach. This

position is a critical link between the Admissions and Athletics departments and reports jointly to the

Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and the Director of Athletics.

There is an opportunity for the coaching position to be full-time in conjunction with the Assistant

Director of Admissions and Financial Aid role, or another substantial teaching or administrative

position currently open or that may become available on the TVS Careers Website.

Admission and Financial Aid

This role focuses on stewarding Middle School (grades 5-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12)

families through the admissions process. This position will also serve in the critical role of

reviewing all financial aid applications for both current and prospective families.

The role requires some evening and weekend hours.

Admission Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted, responsive, and empathetic point of contact for prospective

families, demonstrating warmth, professionalism, and personalized care in all

interactions.

  • Provide engaging campus tours.
  • Lead Middle School (Grades 5-8) and Upper School (Grades 9-12) admissions

efforts, coordinating all aspects of the application review process in partnership

with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.

  • Collaborate closely with the Heads of Middle and Upper School and Admissions

Committees to ensure mission-aligned, thoughtful enrollment decisions.

  • Direct and enhance all elements of student experience during the admissions

journey, including interviews, shadow days, and ambassador connections.

  • Partner with colleagues to design and execute dynamic admissions events that

showcase the TVS experience in authentic and compelling ways.

  • Stay deeply informed about TVS's Middle and Upper School programs as well as

trends in independent school enrollment, financial aid, and competitive positioning.

  • Lead the Student Ambassador Program-selecting, training, and inspiring student

leaders to represent TVS with confidence and authenticity.

  • Oversee all aspects of financial aid administration, including file review,

recommendations, and data presentation for the Financial Aid Committee.

  • Manage data regarding financial aid and present it to the Director of Admissions

and Financial Aid Committee as needed.

  • Review financial aid files and make recommendations to the Director of Admissions

and Enrollment Management and the Financial Aid Committee for allocation of

financial aid funds in accordance with the school's policies and procedures.

  • Participate fully in the life of the school and community, modeling engagement and

enthusiasm across all divisions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Athletic Department

The mission of the TVS Athletic Department is to inspire extraordinary students to become

competent, competitive, character-based athletes. The Athletic program at Trinity Valley School

provides an extraordinary opportunity to develop the athleticism and character of young students.

Coaches will model hard work, leadership, and a growth mindset. Collaboration with all

constituent groups at the School is essential as the program offers community building for

students, families, faculty, and staff.

All athletics coaches will report to the Athletic Director and prioritize relationship building with

colleagues, students, and their families. Successful candidates will embrace the mission and values

of the School and be willing to act as a representative of TVS in the Fort Worth community.

Coaching Responsibilities

The coaching role is for the Spring season of the 2025-2026 school year, with a

focus on the Boys' High School (JVVarsity) program.

  • Abiding by the rules and regulations established by the TVS, Southwest Preparatory

Conference (www.spcsports.org) and Texas High School Lacrosse League (www.thsll.org).

Work closely with the Director of Athletics, Athletic leadership team and Program Director. Positively encouraging, training, and coaching the participants of the assigned sport. Instructing players in the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport. Implementing sound offensive, defensive, and team strategies to build competitive teams. Modeling good sportsmanship while maintaining appropriate conduct towards student athletes, officials, coaches and spectators. Scheduling and organizing effective practice sessions.

  • The Program Director will collaborate with the Director of Athletics on hiring, retention,

evaluation, and professional development of coaching staff.

Scheduling games in conjunction with the Program Director for SPC and THSLL. Working collegially with fellow coaches and Athletic Department staff.

  • Coordinating summer coaching/playing opportunities and camp selection with players (and

families).

Working closely with the College Counseling office in the recruitment/placement of players.

  • Representing TVS and the Athletic program in a professional manner and within the bounds

of good sportsmanship.

  • Generating additional support of the program throughout the greater TVS community and

through building connections with Lower School, Middle School, students, and families.

  • Remain well versed in coaching concepts and continuously seek resources to improve

practices and team performance.

  • Collaborating with the TVS Director of Transportation to schedule and complete your

physical and ESC Region 11 Bus Driver certification prior to the start of coaching duties.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

Prior Experience in admissions, preferably in an independent school.

Prior experience in reviewing financial aid files or related experience preferred. Excellent people skills, as well as verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Warmth, openness, and enthusiasm for working with children and families.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and in

a collaborative environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook email, Google and internet

applications such as Canva.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all federal and state laws regarding

student and family information and all personal identifying information.

Possess the ability to use student information systems, databases and technologies. Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success coaching at the club, varsity high

school level or above, as a JV/Varsity head or assistant coach.

  • Support fully the four main objectives of the TVS Mission Statement.

Exemplify personal and professional integrity. Work collaboratively with all TVS employees.

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, organizational, technological,

and interpersonal skills.

Have a strong commitment to the multi-sport student-athlete concept. Successfully complete CPR and TVS employee required training.

  • Possess or obtain valid Texas driver's license and pass motor vehicle records search
